I'd also add that most of them have got so much work that they don't really care about pissing potential clients off. The trouble with tradies in Coromandel is that if the weather is fine, they're out fishing or at golf -- if not, "can't work in that, mate". Your only hope is when the wind is at gale force and the tide is wrong.
Anonymoushttps://www.blogger.com/profile/05359958038285876130noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4341114511830074977.post-14200650119992752562020-11-22T10:44:17.735+13:002020-11-22T10:44:17.735+13:00Very true Sonja but we both know that brownie poin...Very true Sonja but we both know that brownie points earned by husbands have to be used by the next day or two as they evaporate after that ;-) .Geoff Jameshttps://www.blogger.com/profile/05041523109817248619noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4341114511830074977.post-11720198601002438782020-11-22T10:37:01.251+13:002020-11-22T10:37:01.251+13:00It never hurts to collect brownie points in that d...It never hurts to collect brownie points in that department. In NZ, there's a similar scheme for young travellers to work on organic farms. There are still quite a few overseas people "trapped" in NZ who feel safer here than going home.

Thank you for the kind words. I'm mechanical, not civil but nevertheless quite pleased with the outcome and it attracted brownie points from the CEO :-).Geoff Jameshttps://www.blogger.com/profile/05041523109817248619noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4341114511830074977.post-24154067243138067662020-11-20T08:35:00.924+13:002020-11-20T08:35:00.924+13:00The stairs are looking good, Geoff and think about...The stairs are looking good, Geoff and think about all the moneys you might have saved by building it yourself.

In rural areas in Canada it seems common to invite workaways (mostly young travelers with a work permit) in order to get these things done in return for board and lodging but under quarantine this wouldn't be very likely.

Kudos to you, Mr engineer, you did a great job, I mean it - no irony.SonjaMhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/12389245948579828531noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4341114511830074977.post-48337964246041373622020-11-20T06:28:26.625+13:002020-11-20T06:28:26.625+13:00Sigh..... 😛Sigh..... 😛Geoff Jameshttps://www.blogger.com/profile/05041523109817248619noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4341114511830074977.post-32976553452243550582020-11-19T22:42:23.706+13:002020-11-19T22:42:23.706+13:00HahahahahHahahahahStevehttps://www.blogger.com/profile/10160712689280276620noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4341114511830074977.post-57209371738001211342020-11-19T07:02:27.987+13:002020-11-19T07:02:27.987+13:00Thanks Steve.
