Got to agree that high temps are not pleasant for riding.

Hahaha- you never know about these old people. Live long enough to be an embarrassment to your kids, I say :-). I've been on the Loop today in a van with some staff from NZ's principal roading authority - a very good day indeed. Will probably make it the subject of the next blog. All the very best!Geoff Jameshttps://www.blogger.com/profile/05041523109817248619noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4341114511830074977.post-88247222491888381932017-01-11T19:25:57.904+13:002017-01-11T19:25:57.904+13:00Gidday Jules!

I used the Nikwax 2 step system on my old jacket and it does work fairly well but you need to do it every 6 months or so.

Yeah, the 'busa is a lot of value for money. I'm interested to see how much the new 765 Street Triple will sell for in NZ.Geoff Jameshttps://www.blogger.com/profile/05041523109817248619noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4341114511830074977.post-29216246531471709882017-01-11T15:49:15.097+13:002017-01-11T15:49:15.097+13:00Happy new year Geoff - it hasn't rained for a ...Happy new year Geoff - it hasn't rained for a few weeks over here in WA, and the temps are going silly, so riding is confined to the early hours....6-10am. 38+ is just not fun. I've only worn my Oxford over suit once since I left NZ - it's more a perforated jacket and vents thing here most of the year - liners don't get put in very often... That jacket looks good though.
I just wish there was an IAM branch over here - we need something to re-vitalise our riding outlooks, other than tootling down to the village shops on the old tiddlers (CB350 and Suzuki X7)- a 60 km round trip if we do the loop. We had to join the Vintage MCC to get club plates and cheap rego for them, but......it's full of old people!
Lots of noise from the state government about m/c deaths again last year and more stupid rules being enforced - all counterproductive of course, and do nothing to address the problems....we're on one of the popular Perth bike country loops - a bit like you with the Coro loop, and the problems are much the same as over there....rider road craft and skill sets not up to ambitions and lots of older riders on immense cruisers "living the dream" who are quite scary to watch sometimes. Punitive legislation doesn't counter that.JonLhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/04101897631145411071noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4341114511830074977.post-30577459552683589162017-01-11T11:24:55.077+13:002017-01-11T11:24:55.077+13:00Keep up the good work Geoff. I recently treated my textile gear with Nikwax but have yet to encounter any wet weather since doing it. They claim it adds " water repellency and revives breathability". Spotted a new old stock (2016) Busa in Peter Stevens recently. At $16,999 ride away it's a lot of motorcycle for the money. The last thing you'd want to see is me modelling it - an instant decline in sales :-) .

Like most countries, in NZ for every person who wants to lift their skills, there would be 50 riders who don't think that they need to. That doesn't worry me as it's more than worth it to help the people who do want to be safer.Geoff Jameshttps://www.blogger.com/profile/05041523109817248619noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4341114511830074977.post-35170179139708925952017-01-10T07:18:47.079+13:002017-01-10T07:18:47.079+13:00Happy New Year, Geoff (albeit a bit belated...) Thank you - there is an internal waterproof flap behind the external zipper and a second waterproof zip behind that....... very cunning! The bottom of the external zipper has a flap over it to prevent tank scratches. There's a good video on the Revzilla website but the model shown seems to have a detachable wet liner and mine is non-detachable so whether there are differences for the US market, I don't know.Geoff Jameshttps://www.blogger.com/profile/05041523109817248619noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4341114511830074977.post-54408154425665189272017-01-09T05:35:46.939+13:002017-01-09T05:35:46.939+13:00Sounds like you are off to a busy year.
