At one time, we would have treated the roads as a racetrack but nowadays for a whole load of reasons, we're careful about choosing time and place. I think we get far more pleasure from riding well than riding fast for its own sake. Having said that, the figure you mention was "slightly" on the low side but we didn't hold it for long :-)

Thanks and cheers....Geoff Jameshttps://www.blogger.com/profile/05041523109817248619noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4341114511830074977.post-6130719880927184602013-03-15T04:34:41.450+13:002013-03-15T04:34:41.450+13:00Great , enjoyable report Geoff !!!! ....keep '...Great , enjoyable report Geoff !!!! ....keep 'em coming

AndrewAndrew X11https://www.blogger.com/profile/18088859021299645542noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4341114511830074977.post-90855573483797784502013-03-14T23:03:41.991+13:002013-03-14T23:03:41.991+13:00Geoff

You say that no one went super fast, well then that can also open up a can of worms. I know people who consider 150kmh super fast. I reckon add about a dollar to that until your going super fast, but hey each to their own. The type of bike you ride can determine your safe comfortable speed i think.

Great ride report mate.
Stevehttps://www.blogger.com/profile/10160712689280276620noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4341114511830074977.post-2267851968569105222013-03-14T10:09:09.867+13:002013-03-14T10:09:09.867+13:00G'day Jules and thanks!

However, I'll see if the lads want to contribute a paragraph or two in their own words - might be a rather interesting exercise!

Hahaha - you know what it's like with great friends, the slightest lapse whether it be a riding error or any other kind of stuff-up and you never hear the end of it!! The only reason there was no navigational incompetence on my part is that on days 2 and 3 when I was out front was because I programmed waypoints into my GPS to avoid any lapses :-)Geoff Jameshttps://www.blogger.com/profile/05041523109817248619noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4341114511830074977.post-35072918793390512312013-03-13T23:06:49.602+13:002013-03-13T23:06:49.602+13:00Geoff another great post. I'm sure the 'fellas would have discussed the merits of their particular at some stage.

I'm pretty sure that "navigational incompetence" is one of my less favorable attributes as well!Tarsnakes Down Underhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/04859439380216890525noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4341114511830074977.post-9820370757583530752013-03-13T09:45:24.333+13:002013-03-13T09:45:24.333+13:00Hi Brandy,

Riding with people you trust implicitly is good for the soul, but laughing with them (or at them) is equally good for the soul. I know that sounds a bit New Age, but it's absolutely true.

Hahaha - ragging each other unmercifully is what true mates do!

*snigger* - I'll push my luck next time :-0Geoff Jameshttps://www.blogger.com/profile/05041523109817248619noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4341114511830074977.post-76952046018136281612013-03-13T04:31:13.855+13:002013-03-13T04:31:13.855+13:00That sounds like the very best kind of ride Geoff....That sounds like the very best kind of ride Geoff.
